Real Estate Industry Reception Highlights

Alumni smiling for the camera

More than 50 Cal Poly alumni gathered for a real estate industry reception Oct. 9 at The Pacific Club in Newport Beach. The event was hosted by Greenlaw Partners founder Wil Smith, a 1995 agricultural business graduate.

Attendees represented graduating classes from the 1960s through recent years and work in fields including real estate sales, finance, architecture and development.

Cal Poly Orfalea College of Business Dean Damon Fleming and College of Architecture and Environmental Design Dean Marc Swackhamer shared updates on the university’s cross-disciplinary Real Estate Initiative, including insights from faculty fellows and members of the program’s founders circle. The event also gave CAED alumni the opportunity to meet Swackhamer and connect with several current students involved in the program.

The evening offered meaningful networking, engaging conversations and a reminder of the strength of Cal Poly’s alumni community in shaping the future of the real estate industry.
