Cal Poly Night with the San Francisco Giants

Victor Glover about to throw the first pitch at the Giants game.

Over 1,500 alumni filled Oracle Park on Friday, July 12, during the first Cal Poly Night with the San Francisco Giants. All alumni attendees received limited-edition Cal Poly x Giants beanies to wear at the game — resulting in a sea of Cal Poly green and gold in the stands!

To kick off the night, alumnus and astronaut Victor Glover (General Engineering, '99) threw out the first pitch in front of a friendly crowd including his own friends and family, Cal Poly alumni, staff and fans.

To add to the Cal Poly Pride, San Francisco Giants announcer and alumnus, Mike Krukow (Physical Education, '73), surprised fans with an on-field visit before the game began and Cal Poly Women's Beach Volleyball alumni Livy Lee (Business Administration, '21) and Erika Foreman (Music, '23; MBA Business Administration, '24) sang the national anthem.

As an added bonus, Cal Poly Baseball alumnus, Brooks Lee (Sociology, '22) took to the field as a member of the Minnesota Twins.

The beanie is so nice! What a fun event, it made me happy to see so much Cal Poly gear in one place.
