Tammy Kiely
(Business Administration, B.S., 1989)
Tammy Kiely graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1993. She earned an MBA in 1999 from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar. In 2019 Kiely was appointed the Co-head of Global Technology Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs. She is also the Head of the Global Semiconductor Banking practice, a position she’s held since 2006, and serves on the Global Investment Committee for investment banking. During her 20 years at Goldman Sachs, Kiely has worked with a variety of companies on numerous mergers, acquisitions and financings. She joined the firm in 1999, became a vice president in 2002 and was named managing director in 2007 and partner in 2014. Kiely serves on the Orfalea College of Business’ Advisory Board and as a mentor and an inspiration to students. She has participated in Executive in Residence experiences for students multiple times and arranged for students to visit Goldman Sachs in San Francisco and New York. In 2017 she started the Goldman Sachs’ Case Competition at Cal Poly, writing the cases and serving as judge. In 2019, the contest attracted 100 student competitors from various colleges across the university to compete. Kiely and her husband Thomas (Human Development, ’93), are generous supporters of the college’s new annex building project and the Multicultural Business Program. In addition to her support of Cal Poly, Kiely serves as the co-chair of the Greater Bay Area chapter of the American Heart Association and is a member of the Board of Regents at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo.
