Rik Floyd
(Economics, B.S., 1979)
Rik Floyd graduated in 1979 with a bachelor’s of science degree in economics.He earned an MBA in marketing and finance from St. Mary’s College of California 1985 and went on to spend 25 years brokering office, industrial, and investment real estate transactions in addition to advising private capital clients. In 2010, he co-founded CP2 project consultants, LLC with fellow Cal Poly graduate Stephen W. Hall, with a focus on facilitating real estate ownership with owner/user partners. In 2015, he joined Foster Thornton after earning certification as a California Licensed Fiduciary (CLPF). Floyd is an engaged and avid volunteer and supported of Cal Poly and the Cal Poly Alumni Association (CPAA), serving on the CPAA Board of Directors since 2010. He has held several leadership positions with the CPAA including Southern California Regional Director, president -elect, president, past president and president and treasurer of the Cal Poly Alumni — San Diego Chapter. Floyd served as a member of the Orfalea College of Business’s Dean’s Advisory Council from 2010 through 2016 and in 2013 was recognized as the Orfalea College of Business Honored Alumnus for his sustained and outstanding support of the college.
