Gilbert H. Stork, Ph.D.

Gilbert H. Stork, Ph.D. graduated with a bachelor’s in mathematics in 1964 and masters in mathematics in 1966. He earned a doctorate in education from Brigham Young University in 1981. Stork has had a long and successful career at Cuesta College, beginning as a professor and football coach in 1967, and in many leadership positions in the classroom and student services since, culminating in his appointment as the Superintendent/President in 2011. Stork has been an active Rotarian for 30 years and serves on the board of directors for several community and state organizations. He was a member of the 1960 Cal Poly football team and was instrumental in the construction of the Mustang Memorial Plaza. Stork was inducted to the Cal Poly Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006. He and his wife Janice (Elementary Education ’65) have been married for 51 years and have five children and ten grandchildren.
