The annual Weekend of Washington (WOW) is a great way for new and existing DC Mustangs to get to know the community through fun and familiar events around the city. Build your weekend by selecting from the activities listed below. Note: You will need to register for each event you plan to participate in.

We'll start our weekend early with a casual social at Dacha Beer Garden in the Shaw neighborhood of DC starting at 5:30 p.m. Come meet your WOW leaders, Cal Poly Alumni — Washington DC Community Leaders, of Group 202 and your fellow WOWies.

We are going exploring! Hiking was something that we had ample opportunities to take advantage of in San Luis Obispo. We have some beautiful outdoor areas to explore in the DMV, and we'll be heading to Great Falls Park on the Maryland side on Saturday, Oct. 19. We'll meet at the Great Falls Tavern Visitor Center for a walk roughly 2 miles along the Potomac River.

Lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! We'll finish our WOW in DC with a visit to the National Zoo. Meet us at the zoo entrance on Connecticut Avenue at 11 a.m. to see all your favorite animals. The National Zoo is accessible by public transit (Metro stop off the Red Line is Woodley Park-Zoo-Adams Morgan, and multiple bus lines drop nearby). If you are driving in, please make sure to reserve and pay for parking ahead of time.
