Cal Poly Alumni — San Luis Obispo Community Cal Poly Wines Tasting Seminar
Mustangs are invited to a special event introducing Cal Poly’s in-house wine label from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Cal Poly Alumni House, Building 28, at the corner of Campus and Crandall Way in San Luis Obispo.
Cal Poly Alumni, in partnership with Cal Poly Wine, will host a guided tasting led by Wine and Viticulture Department Head Benoît Lecat. Alumni and guests will receive a behind-the-scenes look at Cal Poly Wine and sample Trestle Vineyard Estate and Reserve Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, exploring the wines’ nuances from production to palate.
Following the tasting, students and faculty from the Wine and Viticulture Department will discuss how Cal Poly’s Learn by Doing philosophy shapes vineyard management, winemaking and the wine business.
Tickets are $15 and include a flight of four wines, cheese and charcuterie, and a special gift. The program begins promptly at 4 p.m.
The event is open to alumni and supporters ages 21 and older.
