Tuscany-Cortona
Fall 2004
Our trip to Cortona was the beginning of our very successful travel program. Cortona is the home of Frances Mayes, who wrote Under the Tuscan Sun. Several scenes from the movie were also filmed in this town.
During this trip, we explored the streets, churches, and museums of Cortona, Montepulciano, medieval Perugia, and the walled city of Assisi. We visited Siena and Florence. We took time to have leisurely meals and visit wineries. We listened to informative educational programs.
