Italy's Lake District
Fall 2007
Our trip to the northern Lake District offered accommodations in Baveno with a panoramic view of Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands. We strolled through formal and exotic gardens and viewed cathedrals and palaces.
We cruised Lake Maggiore and Como and explored the beautiful Borromean Islands of Isola Bella, Isola Madre, and Isola Pescatori as well as some of Lake Como's cities and villages. We also cruised Lake Orta and the legendary island of San Giulio. Educational programs offered included discussions on contemporary Italy, life in Borromean times, and the development of the Lake District.
