Chianti in a Tuscan Villa
Fall 2006
For our Chianti trip, we stayed in the heart of the Chianti region in the medieval village of Marcialla, overlooking the Elsa Valley. Our trip included visits to the crystal center of Colle di Val d'Elsa, the village of San Gimignano, and the ancient palaces and churches of Lucca. We also visited the beautiful cities of Pisa, Florence and Siena.
Educational programs were provided on local architecture, renaissance art, and contemporary life in Italy. Our talented chef gave us a demonstration of Tuscan cooking.
