The Cal Poly Alumni Association is pleased to invite your business to participate in our “Mustang Merchant” program. Every year, more than 2,500 students graduate from California Polytechnic State University and joined the ranks of more than 140,000 Cal Poly alumni! And every graduate of Cal Poly is automatically eligible for free membership with the Alumni Association. So, you may be asking, “What does this mean for my business?”
In 1998 a program called “Partners with Local Merchants” was created between the Cal Poly Alumni Association and local businesses in San Luis Obispo and surrounding areas. Its goal was to give CPAA members a discount at participating businesses while at the same time benefiting the businesses with cross-promotional efforts.
When the program started, participating businesses offered a 10% discount to CPAA members who presented their current membership card. Since the program has been renamed the "Mustang Merchant" program, new and revised promotional efforts have been added to allow more exposure for the local businesses taking part in the program.
These additional benefits include a direct link to your business on the Cal Poly Alumni Association Web site, and invitations to participate in Alumni Association special events.
